Malcolm, a qualified Chartered Engineer, is a specialist in digitalisation for Crossrail International and focused on the creation and implementation of Project Information Management (PIM) on major projects to drive better outcomes for complex infrastructure programmes. With over 40 years of experience in programme and project management, design and construction of major transport infrastructure schemes, Malcolm is a leading exponent of the UK’s drive for digital maturity in client organisations. He has worked in UK BIM Task Groups and appeared in the UK media as a transportation specialist, notably on Sky News, BBC News 24 and BBC Radio 4.
As Head of Technical Information for 10 years at Crossrail, Malcolm’s responsibilities included development of digital and technical information strategies as well as BIM, CAD services, document management, geographic information systems (GIS), and asset information management. He also helped manage Crossrail’s award winning Innovate18 programme. In 2013 and again in 2015 he won the British Construction Industry Award for BIM Project Application.

M.Sc. in Civil Engineering. A graduate of the Kielce University of Technology, Euro Inżynier. An activist in such technical organizations as: The Institute of Civil Engineering in London, the Masovian Chamber of Civil Engineers, the Association of Experts and Managers of Rail Transport and STP - Association of Polish Technicians in Great Britain, in the years 2012-2015 he was the President and lecturer (Co-founder of the Technical Academy at STP), and currently he is the Vice President of STP, where he deals with BIM - BIM Project for Poland. Former member of the Advisory Council to the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in London (2012-2017). Tomas holds a Master's Degree in Geodesy from the Faculty of Civil Engineering. After a short career as a surveyor, he started working in the software industry, dealing with support, training and programming in the area of infrastructure solutions. He has been dealing with BIM technology for over 5 years working for Skanska in Poland and Finland as well as for Rapid5D. It is mainly practical use of BIM for scheduling (4D) and costing (5D). Currently working for Skanska UK Civils, on the High Speed 2 project as BIM Integration Manager. He completed MBA studies in the area of International Business at the Dominican University in Chicago. Phil is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers with many years of practical experience in design and construction. He is an acknowledged leader in the deployment of Information Technology in Infrastructure Planning, Design, Construction and Operational Management. His background and experience has encompassed most aspects of the construction industry from buildings through infrastructure to asset management.
He is passionate about the use of data as an asset and seeing it used throughout the lifecycle of the built environment. And he feels strongly that BIM has too long been viewed as a 3D modelling solution and not the information management tool it truly is. He is therefore actively involved in helping asset owners, designers, builders and operators in developing strategies that capture manage and leverage this information.
He was member of the London Crossrail BIM Advisory Panel and worked with the UK BIM Taskgroup as a team member developing strategy and supported the delivery of BIM to government departments majoring on BIM for Infrastructure for the Highways Agency and the Environment Agency. I currently hold the position of BIM Coordinator at the Norwegian company Norconsult AS. I am involved in many railway and roadway projects, among other project of higway E39 from Kristiansand to Mandal. The most advanced project currently in Norway, where the Bim level 3 is the starting point.
